Sally, Didn't realize you were in caregiving mode yet again. I am going through it with my mom for the first time. As always, I learn so much from you. Thanks for a wonderful piece. ... Linda.

Thanks, Nelda, for excellent compliment to my piece. It helps to know we're not alone--in so many ways! What was the recorded books free software you told me about at the library last week? Sally

Sally, we have a similar hobby while we caregive. I have always been a reader, but over the last 30 years as a mom and now caregiver, reading has saved my mind. I find that as long as I am learning, experiencing new thoughts and ideas, I can cope better.
Reading transports me--in a similar way that tennis does--you have to concentrate on what you are doing, and it gives your "caretaker antennae" a little break. Between two book clubs, and downloading for free from the library for Becca and me on our Ipods, I always have something interesting waiting for me.

Sally,
Though I am saddened to read of all that you and Rex have endured, your faith and your insight are amazing and uplifting. I wish onlly the best for you both and will pray that the treatment is successful.
